No current UXO detection survey technology can provide complete assurance that every buried UXO item has been detected, located, and removed. Even the most reasonably practicable method, other than shifting all the soils beneath a site, will leave some level of residual risk.
Our mitigation plan and protocol on residual UXO risks gives guidance in the event of an UXO encounter during marine campaigns forming part of the installation. Effectively after our strategy, the outcome of the proactive mitigation strategy of re-routing, UXO survey, investigation and disposal has the construction area an overall risk level that is as low as reasonably practicable.
UXOcontrol is now wholly owned by the N-Sea Group and continues to support the offshore industry through the delivery of UXO Risk Management. This includes the development of practical strategies for dealing with ERW and CBRNe on land and underwater.
