UXOcontrol, the Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) risk mitigation solutions expert and its Consortium partner Louis Dreyfus TravOcean, a subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group, have been appointed by Ailes Marines, company 100 % owned by Iberdrola, as specialist contractor to complete the UXO identification and debris removal campaign for its Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm. Contract value is estimated to be circa £3.5M.
When construction is completed, the Saint-Brieuc wind farm zone will cover an area of 75 km2 with 62 wind turbines. The wind farm is located at 16,3 km off the Brittany coast in France.
The UXO identification and debris removal campaign mobilised in July 2020, with the mobilisation of UXOcontrol‘s French JV partner Louis Dreyfus Armateur’s fully equipped UXO survey and identification vessel, French flagged, Wind of Pride, which will conduct UXO identification works for an estimated 80-day period.
